Why does haloalkanes easily dissolve in organic solvents?

1- firstly haloalkanes or halogenated alkanes are alkane organic compounds with the halo group as the functional group.

2-mostly they are covalent compounds

3-due to this fact the intermolecular spaces amidst the elements is more as a result they can be easily broken and dissolved in organic solvents of lesser polarity[ also they are no soluble in water because h20 is polar]

4-the compounds are held together with weak van der waals forces.

5- due to less electronegativity difference the organic compounds attain a greater affinity towards the moles of the compounds .

hence halogenated alkanes easily dissolve in water.
