Why does hydra has numerous tentacles around its mouth........?

bcoz tentacles help it in locomotion. tentacles also helpful for catching prey.

hydra is a cnidarian which has tentacles around its mouth to catch the prey and engulf it into its gastrovascular cavity with the assistance of the tentacles.
