India is a south east Asian country. As we all know that India has monsoon type of climate.

During summer intense low pressure develops over India which attracts the south east winds.

Monsoon winds are south east trade winds that enter the northern hemisphere and due to Coriolis force get deflected towards right. They then are are called south west monsoon winds. As they blow over monsoon they pick up moisture and when they blow over the Indian subcontinent they shed their moisture and cause rainfall.

In winters the pressure conditions are reversed and then winds start blowing from land sea and are called north east monsoons. They cause some rainfall over the Eastern coast of India.

Since India lies in the tropics it has tropical type of climate which due to presence of monsoon winds is known as monsoon type of climate.
