Indian constitution is the world's biggest constitution. Initially it had 80,000 words in its 395 articles in 22 parts and 8 schedules. It is growing ever since. Now it has 448 articles in 24 parts and 12 schedules. Our constitution since its inception has seen 97 amendments.

A further difference between these two is that while written constitution is a product of deliberate human action, the unwritten constitution is a result of growth. The written constitution is drafted by an agency (such as constituent assembly); unwritten constitution is a combination of customs and conventions which are not drafted by anybody in particular.
That is why India was having written constitution
