Why does it look like potassium has more than 8 valence electrons in its outer shell? Isn't its KLMN configuration 2, 8, 9???

Bohr's atomic model says that the outermost shell of an atom cannot hold more than 8 electrons even though if it has the capacity to hold more than 8 electrons like you have got a doubt that it might contain 18 electrons but in this case it is no The outermost Orbit or shell is going to contain a maximum of 8 electrons
