Why does it take some time to see objects in dim light when you enter from bright sunlight outside '?

Because when we enter from bright sunlight then size of our pupil decreased by the help of iris to control the amount of light.so when we enter into dim light the size of our pupil already decreased but after little time size of pupil adjust according to light and hence we are able to see the object.
