COZ Land surfaces absorb much more solar radiation than water. This is due to the fact that most land surfaces are darker than water which of course means more absorption of solar radiation and heat. Water reflects most solar radiation that reaches its surface back to the atmosphere.

the warm air over the land will rise throughout the day , causing lowpressure at the surface . over the water the high surface pressure will form because of colder air . the air over the ocean is now warm then the air over the land . the land losses heat quickly after the sun goes down and thr air above it cools too.
