Why does magnesium powder react much more rapidly than magnesium ribbon with dilute sulphuric acid?

Here is the answer of your question

Powder of Magnesium (Mg) has more surface area as compared to the magnesium ribbon.
And that increased surface area allows the better interaction with sulphuric acid. So, that's why more reaction is faster.
