Why does Mr Easton feel embarrassed, uncomfortable in story Hearts and Hands? Please explain in detail.

Mr. Easton was slightly embarrassed because he and a ruffled,glum faced man with shrewd eyes and roughly dressed were handcuffed together. Miss Fairchild was an old friend of mr. Mr.Easton felt embarrassed, uncomfortable and tensed because he was caught in a strange situation which had

no escape, he was the counterfieter and was handcuffed to the Marshall ,a rough looking man and was taken

to Leavenworth,when on his train to Denver he accidentally met with a familiar person,a young woman, Miss

Fairchild, he didn't want to denounce himself in her eyes which he thought she might think of due to the "shining

bracelets ".

He felt embarrassed because he was the convict and if Miss Fairchild would have the knowledge of this then she

would not think good and give respect to him.

He felt uncomfortable due to the "bracelets "which might make Miss Fairchild think that he was the counterfeiter .

He was tensed with the thought that Miss Fairchild would know the truth and then his impression plated in her

mind would be destroyed.
