High notes tend to be a little louder compared to one’s lower ones, but unless the song/repertoire is asking you for a much more urgent delivery where you can then belt or scream your heart out, it is expected that singers are able to sing higher without getting too loud (Note that the key phrase is ‘too loud’). It is an advanced skill, and comes both with experience as well as training if the singer has one - not only it signifies great vocal technique and control, but it also showcases one’s sensitivity towards a song’s dynamics. You would not want to be the singer who can only belt all the time because that will highly limit your repertoire, so I recommend you to try learning and eventually perfecting the skill if you have not mastered it.
