NaCl is an ionic compound but it conduct electricity in molten form only not in solid state.
For conduction of electricity , there must be free electron or free radicals(ions). In solid state ,NaCl donot dissociates into ions causing no conduction of electricity whereas in molten state, it dissociates into ions (Na⁺ and Cl⁻)causing conduction due to the free ions.
