He was too satisfied and proud of his own performance, to him it was perfect that he felt that taking money for this will be a disgrace to that performance. It revealed that he was a true actor for whom creative satisfaction was foremost and not money.

Patol Babu walked away without collecting his payment because he gave more importance to ethics and values than mercenary motives. He was already annoyed at the shooting crew for giving him such a small role. Secondly, he derived immense satisfaction out of his own performance. The petty money he was to receive appeared almost of little value compared with the satisfaction he felt. Thirdly, he was feeling very tired and hot. So he went away without bothering to be paid.
This act of his leaving without taking his payment shows he was a man who did not care much about money-matters. He was a man of emotions and instincts rather than being practical and logical.
