Why does Poona receive less rainfall than Mumbay ?

Explanation:

Pune is located on the leeward side (the side that does not face incoming winds) and, therefore, receives less rainfall than Mumbai. Due to presence of western ghats Mumbai receives more rainfall than pune as Mumbai lies on the windward side of ghats and pune on leeward side.
