Why does Prokaryotic cells lack cytoplasmic organelles present in eukaryotic cells?

Prokaryotic cells have a cell wall surrounding the cell membrane. The fluid matrix filling the cell is the cytoplasm. There is no well-defined nucleus.The nuclear membrane is found in eukaryotes.

Prokaryotes lack a defined nucleus ( where DNA and RNA are stored in eukaryotic cells), and therefore they lack mitochondria, ER, golgi apparatus, and many other cytoplasmic organelles.
