When you exhale, you expel carbon dioxide, a waste product of respiration. During exercise, your lungs and respiratory system must provide more oxygen to the blood. You will breathe harder and fasterbecause: Respiratory muscles are stimulated by sympathetic nerves in order to increase the rate ofbreathing.

☆dioxide from your cells to your lungs, to let you breathe out all the bad gas! When we exercise, our cells areworking harder, and they need more oxygen. They also produce more carbon dioxide. Thats why you breathe faster when you exercise!☆
