When we wash clothes, our hands areexposed to water for a long time. Ourhands behave as hypertonic solution and the outside of our hands behave as hypotonic solution. ... The water is not entering your hands, it actually leaves them and hence, they shrink

Clothes are washed with soap or detergent solution .This solution is hypertonic as compared to osmotic concentration of our skin cells . The washing solution ,therefore ,result in exosmosis in the skin cells that come in contact with it for some time .Due to this reason, our hands get shrinked while washing clothes.
