The value of diversity in a society is a function of the strength of that society to accomplish its objectives. Societies are strengthened by two main factors: possessing a sufficient number of members to achieve its objectives, and possessing a sufficient variety of skill sets among those members to achieve its objectives. Homogeneity, or lack of diversity, inhibits both factors, and therefore may impede the society’s ability to achieve its objectives.
