This is because as we know that medicine are produces by using some chemicals and by some reactions. So.. Some of the medicine have some chemicals which by coming in contact with light. There occurs photochemical reaction and it can spoil all the chemicals or the composition of that medicine so. Some medicines are kept in dark bottles. To avoid light from them.

Some liquid medicines are kept in dark coloured bottles. this is because some liquid medicines can react to the light but when they are kept in coloured bottles these help to prevent the medicines to come in contact with the light.
so to prevent any chemical reaction of those medicines. they are usually kept in dark coloured bottels
