Why does talcum powder gives a cooling sensation?

because the trick is that the chemical used in the powder sends signal to brain that “its cold out here” without actually cooling it.

We all know the cooling effect of talcum powders. This cooling effect is due to dry nature of talcum powder.

As we apply this powder to our body, they absorb the sweat and that causes evaporation of sweat overall. Evaporation is an endothermic process so it reduces the temperature of body and overall we feel cooling effect.

That is the reason we use talcum powder in summer to beat the heat.
