the Sun rays fall straight on the areas lying near equator . and the places which are far away from the equator get less amount of heat as only some rays can strike on the areas.

The farther a place is from the equator, the less sunlight this place receives.

Explanation:

  • Latitude is a measure of the distance from the equator to a place on Earth.
  • Since the Earth is round, only the front most part receives direct sunlight.
  • Since the Earth is round, not every place receives the same amount of sunlight or heat.
  • The sun's rays make different angles with different latitudes.
  • A smaller angle means that the same amount of radiation is serving a larger area and thus will have a lower intensity.
  • Latitude or distance from the equator - The more temperature falls in an area from the equator due to the curvature of the earth.
