When we mix copper sulphate solution in water it turns blue.. But when we add an iron nail dipped into it it turns green

When an iron nail dipped in the copper sulphate solution than iron displaces copper from the copper sulphate because iron is more reactive than copper. Therefore the colour of the copper sulphate solution changes.

When an iron nail is dipped in copper sulphate solution , the displacement reaction takes place . The colour of copper sulphate solution fades due to the formation of light green solution of iron sulphate .
