The heating element of the heater is made up of alloy which has very high resistance. So, when current flows through the heating element, it becomes too hot and glows red due to heating effect of current. But the resistance of cord which is usually of copper or aluminium is very low so it does not glow

Hey!!!

The cord does not glow while heating element does because of their composition. The heating element of the heater is made up of alloy , which is highly resistive so when the current flows it glows and resistance of cord is made up of aluminium and copperplate which is low resistive.
