why does the digestion of starch not take place in the stomach of man​

For the digestion of carbohydrates or starch the enzyme ptyalin and amylase

are required.

But stomach produces gastric juice or HCL that contains only pepsin which digests the proteins.

so,starch or carbohydrates

is not digested in stomach
