The flight of the narrator was very terrible on the old plane. The experience was so terrible that he was not able to handle himself off the scary flight. When the plane landed he felt very relieved and relaxed. It is because of this reason that he said that he was not sorry to walk away from the Old Dakota. Hence the narrator said, 'I landed and was not sorry to walk away from the old Dakota…'

Why does the narrator say, "I landed & was not sorry to walk away from the old Dakota"?
When the narrator landed on the runway after a stormy flight he was relieved to be alive & didn't wish to see the Dakota.
The Aeroplane, as it was a reminder of the nightmare he had experienced in the storm.
