Pitcher plant is green as it contains chlorophyll and hence it is capable of performing photosynthesis ( a process in which green plants prepare their own food with the help of sunlight) due to which they are also called as Autotrophs. Pitcher plants on the other hand are also called as Carnivorous pants.
