“Dust of snow” is a two-stanza poem written by Robert Frost in ABAB rhyme scheme.

In the first stanza, he uses very simple and poetically uncommon words like a crow and a tree.

The first stanza doesn’t seem quite interesting.

He just simply describes a very minor happening in nature, a bird shaking down the dust of snow on him.

The actual part of the story is expressed in the second stanza. Whatever happened in the first stanza is just some very uninteresting incident to common man. But when a day lived is in regret (for some reasons), the minute movements of nature could touch you with a sense of comfort. This is what the poet feels.

All together, these elements in the poem solidify the theme of the poem: that nature and simplicity, if appreciated and looked into, can be grounding factors in a time of stress.

Answer:

In the poem 'dust of snow' the poet Robert Frost seems to be in a depressive and sorrowful mood. In such a mood, one cannot think of a sweet and beautiful side of nature. The harsh and poisonous images come to his mind. That allows s why, he uses an uncommon, harsh, ugly crow and poisonous tree like hemlock. It reflects the positivity created by negative things.
