The poet says that she wished she had looked after her teeth.If she had looked after them and not had all those toffees and sweet sticky things,there might not have been any danger lurking beneath the dental layers

The poet feels that she should have looked after her teeth because now she has tooth decay and cavities. If she had taken care of her teeth, then this problem wouldn't have occurred.
