Answer:

The postmaster send money to Lencho because after reading the letter he was stunned by seeing his faith in God. He was knowing that it was impossible for Lencho to get help from god. He did not wanted Lencho's trust to be broken from God. So he helped Lencho by sending him some money i.e  70 pesos. He even sighs the letter God for the same reason so that Lencho would think that god has helped him

The postmaster sent money to Lencho in order to keep Lencho’s faith in God alive.

He turned serious when he read Lencho’s letter and wished he had the same faith in God.

Even after he saw that Lencho had requested for money, he stuck to his resolution of answering the letter.

He gathered as much money as he could and sent it to Lencho.

He signed it ‘God’ so that Lencho’s faith would not get shaken.
