Hello!

This is because the hot molecules of air from the food move faster and the smell reaches you far away. The cold molecules of air from the food reaches you slowly. thus the smell does not reach far.

Hope it helps you!!

Answer:

diffusion

Explanation:

the kinetic energy of the hot sizzling food is high so it gets diffused in the air and reaches us several meters away whereas the kinetic energy of cold food is low so it does not reach us several meters away.
