Answer:
The northern and the southern hemisphere experiences solstice at different times because of the revolution and tilt of the earth. During the first six months, the northern hemisphere faces the sun and experience summers , it has longest day and shortest night. Next six months, the southern hemisphere faces the sun and experiences summers whereas the northern hemisphere experiences winters. The southern hemisphere has longest day and shortest night.
