Why does the sun appear larger at dawn and at sunset?

At Full Moon, the Moon rises at sunset. So as the Sun is going down in the West, the Moon is rising in the East. During the waning phase of the lunar cycle, the Moon rises progressively later each night but it is still in the sky when you go to school in the morning.
