Answer:

As we go down into the earth, the temperature increases. Temperature increases due to the gas and pressure present inside the surface of the earth. The temperature increases because we go near to the core of the earth which is metallic and hotter.

The temperature decreases as we go up because of the inversion of temperature which means after every 162 meters temperature falls down by 1 ° C . Similarly as we go down the temperature increases. And moreover it is a fact that temperature increases down the earth in each layer that is crust , mantle and then core.
