✰Question ✰

❍ why does the temperature of a substance remain constant during melting point or boiling point?.

✰Answer✰

➧ The temperature of a substance remain constant at its melting point or boiling point until all the substance melts or boil .This is because the heat supplied is continuously used of in changing the state of substance by overcoming the force of attraction between the particles . This heat energy is observed in conversation solid into liquid at melting point at latent heat of fusion and liquid into gaseous state at its boiling point as latent heat of vaporization and temperature remain constant.

Answer:

The 'temperature of a substance' remains constant during its melting and boiling point because the change in any state of matter as n solid to liquid or the liquid to a gas involves crossing the 'latent heat of fusion' which causes a change in the intermolecular spacing of the molecules in the substance.
