Why does the water kept in an eathren pot become cool in summer?

earthen pot has small pores in it from where water is being evaporate as it evaporates it take heat from water and keep it cool in summer

Water looses its temperature through small pores present in the pot. Hence in an earthen pot (matka) become cool during summer.
