Why does the wire drawing die break?
Answers
Statistics show that the core rupture form: (1) longitudinal crack, 75 % of the cracked mold is longitudinal crack, 90% of which is normal damage caused by thinning of the core wall after repeated grinding. Only a small part is caused by excessive reduction of the wire drawing rate, uncleaning of the surface of the steel wire, poor coating and poor mold mounting. (2) transverse cracks, accounting for about 13% of the total. The transverse cracks are mainly caused by poor mold mounting, such as excessive core taper or out-of-roundness, and poor contact between the core and the bottom of the mold sleeve. Excessive rate of drawing reduction and poor lubrication are secondary causes; more find in wococarbide . (3) cracks and meat rupture at the exit end accounted for 6% respectively, and the defects of the mold material and the improper drawing process accounted for half of each. The meat loss was mainly the quality of the mold.
