Why does tungsten glow when a light bulb is turned on and why not copper glow/

Tungsten is an alloy, making it have a very high melting point. Tungsten provides electricity resistance, so it doesn't burn easily at room temperatures. When it heats up and gets to the required amount of heat it needs to glow, it illuminates with a dry, orange glow.

A material glows when an electric current is passed because it heats up.Since copper is a highly conducting metal (= Low resistance), it doesn't heat up to the point of melting of wire. But Tungsten offers more Resistance thus it heats up Glows.
