Lotus leaves are different from the leaves of other plants. Lotus grown in water so the leaves of Lotus have layer of a wax like substance on their surface. This substance doesn't allow the water to stay on the leaves and keeps it dry. So the water trickles off the Lotus leaves...

lotus is an aquatic plant that has a coating of waxy layer on it stems and leaves. if water fall on the leaves it is not absorption but get trickled down
