There are many reasons for not using coal as a cooking fuel in the kitchen.
Some of them are given below:
• Burning of coal produces toxic gases as a bi-product like carbon monoxide and methane which is very harmful for the health.
• Burning of coal also produces ashes that creates a lot of dirt and if inhales, then people can suffer from respiratory problems.
• One needs to be very attentive and patient while cooking food on coal so that the food is cooked properly and safely.

Answer:
As coal is also a fossil fuel, it is produced in nature from the dead & decayed remains of plants and animals after millions of years of processes. So we cannot use them on a regular basis as a cooking fuel to check their depletion.
