Why doesn't sand dissolve in water?

Sand will not dissolve in water because the "bond" of water is not strong to dissolve the sand. However, some strong acids don't dissolve in sand. Dissolution will proceed faster in warmer water, because warmer water it has more room for the molecular for the salt "fit" between the molecular of water.
