Dogs hang their tongues out to make them feel cool This is due to evaporation process.when they hang their tongues out a large surface of their tongue is exposed and more evaporation occurs.this evaporation makes them to feel cool.so dogs hang their tongues out in summer.

Dogs have a high body temperature.

To regulate the body temperature dogs hang out their tongue in summer.

Generally, mammals regulate their body temperature by sweating.

Dogs have fewer sweat glands on their body so it is difficult to cool their body by sweating.
