Why dollar has large valu than indian money?

It is just a historical accident. 

At the end of WW2, they had a conference (google Bretton-Woods) where every currency was pegged to the dollar at an exchange rate that was decided by the participants of the conference. 

It was decided that a dollar would equal about 5 rupees. 

Since then, the Indian central bank has inflated the rupee far more than the American fed inflated the dollar; so, the rupee has gradually lost  value against the dollar.
