Antibiotics are medicines used to treat infections caused by bacteria. Antibiotics don't work against infections caused by viruses, such as colds and flu. ... It can also mean that they won't work when you really need them for a serious infection.

hello friend!!
antibiotics does not effect viruses because they are not easily able to kill them they need a host to divide. therefore if we will try to kill them they can not be affected by that. therefore antibiotics does not effect them......else they can increase...antibiotics are generally developed for bacterias.. so they cannot be killed by antibiotics..
eg:- we should not use antibiotics when we have cough and cold because they are effected by viruses.
hope it helps!
