why don't birds on powwr lines get electrocuted?

The birds on power lines are safe because no currrent is passing through them.

For a current to flow ,it requires a potential difference between two points. When the birds are sitting on wire ,they are not completing any circuit .

When they touch the ground or any other wire that has different voltage,the current will flow and they will be electrocuted.
