why don't planets twinkle?

Since they are closer to our planet unlike stars so, they do not twinkle.

the planets are very neat to earth. quantity of light reaching us from these are much larger. therefore such a small variation of amount of light reaching our eyes are little change of position will not cause twinkling effect.
