why don't planets twinkle like stars?

Stars don't twinkle. They appear to twinkle from the Earth's surface. When starlight enters into the earth's atmosphere it goes through different densities and temperatures . Due to this the starlight gets deflected or bounced and gives the appearance of twinkling.

Stars emit light. They are giant balls of hydrogen and helium gases. The fusion and the fission reaction taking place in them gives out the bright light. But in case of planets nothing like this happens
