Q. (Direct Speech) "why don't you look out of the window?" She said.

Answer (Indirect Speech)- She asked why he /she did not look out of the window.


Explanation- 'said' was changed to 'asked'. the reported speech was changed to past tense. Since the gender of the subject of the reported speech was not mentioned, so both 'he' or 'she' can be used.
