why due to presence of unpaired electrons,free radicals are chemically reactive??

free radicals are chemically very reactive because they have unpaired electrons.
atoms are stable only when they exist in pair.
atoms having paired electrons and having clockwise and anticlockwise direction of electrns show greater stability than others...
