It is prepared by passing chlorine gas through dry slaked lime ( Calcium hydroxide). Generally this method is used in large scale preparation of bleaching powder. Calcium Hypochlorite or Calcium Oxychloride. Sometimes, it is also called Hypochlorous Acid.
