why earthquake develop shadow jone

Shadow zones are created due to the nature of the 'S' and the 'P' waves..P wave can pass through all medium. However, S wave can not pass through liquid outer core medium ..there is a shadow zone between the [103 degrees and 143 degrees] from the epicenter because S wave can't pass through the outer liquid core ..P wave is also not present in this zone because of multiple reflections due to the change in density of the medium from mental to outer core and from outer core to inner core .
