Why ELECTRICITY sub stations in India are set to multiples of 11 ?? I mean 11 KV, 22 KV, 33KV, 44 KV , 110KV??

The voltage level is choosen for convenience , not only in high transmission Kv lines our house hold voltages to light up basic lamps and equipments are also supplied by 110 v or 220 v , the lamps and equipments are made to operate at 110 or 200 V but for economic operation and same voltage level throughout they are supplied with 110 or 220 v to allow some voltage drops in lines depending upon the form factor and other factors as well , similarly in HT lines also there various types of losses in order to have economic operations they are provided with a voltage of multiple of 11 to allow some voltage drops
